Bruny Island Beer Co. Whey Stout 500ml
This is an amazing project from Bruny island, south-west of Hobart. Most famous for their incredible cheese production, the team has moved into beer making with the same level of care and talent.
The Whey Stout is a roasty milk stout enriched with lactose from their very own organic cow’s milk whey left over after cheese making.
Interestingly, the brewer’s yeast isn't able to digest the lactose sugar, meaning that it stays behind in the beer and enhances the sweetness and texture. It weighs in at only 5.8% so you can enjoy all the complexity of top stout without going overboard.
