2019 Scintilla Shiraz
James Madden has been making excellent natural wine in the hills for a while now and we've been big fans from the get go, back when he went by the name Little Things. I guess Scintilla means the same thing really. He's an ex-sommelier and after tasting his wines you'd think he must have put together some pretty wild wine lists.
Here are James' notes: "Dry-grown pre-colonial clone Shiraz from the hilltop of McLaren Vales's Clarendon. Picked early in yet another very hot year to keep the fruit bright and fresh. Then the fruits is open top fermented with 25% whole bunches for 2 weeks. This vineyard no matter how much I feel the urge to coerce towards vibrant and playful it alway expresses itself by the earth. Flinty, stoney, minerals."
