2016 l'Octavin Charlot
Alice Bouvot's l'Octavin is consistently one of the most dynamic estates in the Jura. She makes an incredible variety of wines, either from her own vineyards around the town of Arbois, or from her friend's grapes further afield.
The grapes for this interesting wine are Merlot (85%), Molette and Muscat. The organic grapes were purchased from Thierry Goult of Domaine de la Saulsaie in Carcassonne the famous walled village in the Languedoc (also famous for the delicious cassoulet dish). The grapes underwent whole bunch maceration for 30 days before being pressed and the juice transferred to tank.
