2019 l'Octavin Dorabella
Alice Bouvot's l'Octavin is consistently one of the most dynamic estates in the Jura. She makes an incredible variety of wines, either from her own vineyards around the town of Arbois, or from her friend's grapes further afield.
This wine is made from Poulsard grapes from fifty year old vines sourced from Alice’s vines in the 'En Curon' vineyard, on the outskirts of Arbois.
As you would expect from a wine made from the Poulsard grape there are lovely notes of strawberries and cherries, but there is also a lingering herbal note that reminds us of marjoram or oregano. There are also some beautiful spices and pronounced minerality shining through. It is fresh, juicy and light – just what you expect a good Jura red wine to be.
