2019 Les Fruits ‘Collines’ Pinot Noir
Tim Stock’s Les Fruits (pronounced Lay Fwee, in case you need to say the name out loud in front of your French mates) wines are some of the most exciting of their kind coming out of the Adelaide Hills. This is the regional Pinot blend—Collines is French for Hills—taken from two vineyards, which in my mind means that the wine is twice as complex as it would have been otherwise.
It tastes like cherries, with some herbal complexity and forest leaf earthiness. Super delicious and made with no other additives than a touch of sulphur at bottling. It’s light but also pretty serious, especially for the price.
