2019 Gut Oggau 'Emmeram' Gewurtztraminer Magnum
The Gut Oggau winery, helmed by Eduard Tscheppe and Stephanie Tscheppe-Eselbock, produces magnificent, esoteric and ultimately collectible wines. Taking time to restore an abandoned vineyard in the Burgenland, they have converted their entire estate to biodynamics. Each cuvee label has been designed by artist Jung Von Matt, featuring a fictional family member’s face. The face is meant to represent the personality of the wine inside. They range from young, electric, jovial, to complex, age-worthy and thought provoking.
The son of Mechthild and Bartholdi, and the brother of Joshuari and Timotheus. 100% Gewurztraminer. Much like the varietal, Emmeram is a charming, dapper man whose personality is much like a birdsong. Sensual aromatics, full of spell binding florals and a tropical lick, a healthy spine of acid and rich palate feel. It’s delicious and good natured.
