2019 Foradori ‘Fontanasanta’ Manzoni Bianco
Elizabetta and her children do such a great job on all of their wines, all made from indigenous grapes from their home in Trentino, all biodynamic, many made in clay anfora, the whites seeing considerable skin contact.
The first thing about this wine that everyone will point out is that Manzoni is a crossing of Riesling and Pinot Banc. But this doesn’t really tell you anything about the wine. Because it’s such a different thing to those other grapes.
It tastes of ripe nectarine and peach, spices, flowers, honey. It 'a wine of structure with great balance and freshness. The seven days skin contact isn’t nearly as obvious as you’d expect.
