2019 Denavolo 'Dinavolino'
The Denavolo estate is the side project and personal vineyard of long time La Stoppa winemaker Giulio Armani. Acquired by Armani in 2005, but originally planted in 1975, the vineyard is perched high in the hills south of Piacenza in Emilia-Romagna, specializing in top quality, single vineyard wines with extended skin contact.
The Dinavolino is the entry level wine from the estate - the same blend as it's big brother (the Dinavolo) equal quantities of Ortugo, Malvasia di Candia, Marsanne and an unidentified local mystery grape. Dry, herbal and kind of tea like, it has lightness and freshness despite being given months of skin contact, a great value intro to Armani's wines.
