2018 Cascina Tavijn Teresa Ruché
First things first. It’s pronounced ‘Casheena T’Varn’. It’s an easy one to mispronounce. It’s the project of Nadia Verrua, a young lady who is considered to be a bit of a wine bandit in her native town of Monferrato. She doesn’t do things the way the others do.
Named after her mother, and made from the local Ruché grape, the Teresa is unlike almost any red wine you will have seen. On the nose, I swear if you didn’t know the colour of the wine, you’d surely guess it to be white. It’s got ripe peach and apricot flavours. The nose has a lovely perception of sweetness that disappears on the palate. Such a killer wine.
