2016 Le Coste Bianco Procanico
The most prolific wine from the Le Coste family. Made from Procanico, the provincial name for Trebbiano, with a smattering of Malvasia, plucked lovingly from their oldest, most densely planted vineyard. The grapes were picked late with touch of botrytis, their sugars and aromats at a mouth watering intensity. Pressed directly then aged in old botti for around one year.
Ripe apricot, eucalypt, smoke and preserved lemon. Silty tannins that accompany food well, but don't hinder its enjoyment if you are without. It is a wine that lingers on the palate, offering more and more with each mouthful. To be savoured and sought after, perhaps with a bowl of marinated artichokes in tow.
